Belts: Troubleshooting, Purchasing, and Installing

This guide will show you how to:

  1. Identify a belt skip
  2. Determine what kind of replacement belt you need
  3.  Point you towards the replacement belt options
  4. Remove and replace a belt

1. How to identify a belt skip

Your belt may begin to skip if its is worn down after several hundred of miles of riding, especially if hard braking or accelerating on hills is common. This video will show you what a belt skip sounds like. If your belt is skipping, then follow the directions below to determine the correct belt type to purchase.

2. Determining your belt type

Since we began shipping the ZBoard 2 in 2016 we have shipped units with both "3M" and "5M" belts. The letter and number determine the belt type. A 3M belt will not work on a 5M board, and visa versa. If you have a 3M board then you should buy a 3M replacement belt. If you have a 5M board then you need to purchase a 5M replacement belt.

This video will walk you through the steps to remove your old belt and replace it with a new one.
